About the event
Saturday and Sunday from 10-4 come see what the Carver Center has to offer!
This year, in addition to tours of the new commissary kitchen and information about programs, incubation services, kitchen rental rates, and copacking, CFEC will offer samples of two products they plan on producing in 2025. Each sample will use slightly different recipes and visitors will have a chance to give feedback about which sample they like best! These results will help inform farm-to-grocery-store product lines.
Several small, local food businesses that use the kitchen will be there, offering samples and products including- rum cakes (Little Virginia), hot sauces (Spicy Grrrls) and 5 Riders Farm. Refresh Kitchen will offer healthy cooking tips, demos, and samples. Food will be available from Pauley’s Backwood BBQ, Bahia Salgados, and Something Good Cooking. Local farm products from kitchen partners will be available for sale.
George Washington Carver Regional High School Alumni Association
Harvest Days coincides with the Alumni’s annual Four County Fair. To celebrate the history of the building and its namesake, Saturday will be filled with fun for all ages, including agriculture workshops, craft demonstrations, games, live music from local Blues Band Way 2 Long, African dancing, no-carve pumpkin decorating, popcorn, balloon artist, cake walk, pie tasting contest, hayrides, moon bounce, Polaris side-by-side rides and giveaways, and more.
Booths and activities from the Rapidan Fire Department, Culpeper County Sheriff's Office Kid ID program, WJMA Radio Station, and the Town of Culpeper Police Department.
This grassroots, nonprofit organization which is the voice and active force for a healthy and scenic Rappahannock River will have a booth with information about responsible land development, their environmental education programs, and pollution reduction strategies. They will also offer tours of the riparian buffer nursery and free saplings (as supplies last).
