The Stone Soup Job Skills Training Program helps those with limited  incomes to improve their quality of life by participating in food  service workforce training.  Skills taught include food preparation,  food safety, nutrition, managing food budgets, and customer service.   Participants will receive a ServSafe Food Handler certificate from the  National Restaurant Association after completing the program.  Participants  are expected to attend each session to receive hands-on training in  food safety, culinary skills, and customer service.  Participants will  receive cooking equipment to practice their new skills at home.  The  goal of Stone Soup is to increase or improve participants' job skills  for employment in the food service industry.  Participants may also  adapt the skills for use in their own home.   This program is free and  will be held on Wednesdays from 10 AM - 12 PM at the Carver Center  (9432 N. James Madison Hwy., Rapidan, VA 22733).  This program is open to local residents, 16 years and older.
